Mississippi Wing Makes an Impact at the 2025 Hammond Airshow

The skies over Hammond, Louisiana roared with history, heart, and horsepower as the Mississippi Wing of the Commemorative Air Force (CAF) participated in the 2025 Hammond Northshore Regional Airshow. Representing both aviation and military history, our team delivered a powerful presence both in the air and on the ground.

A Crowd-Favorite Flight

CAF pilot, Eric Hollingsworth, took to the skies in a thrilling aerobatic routine that captivated the crowd and paid tribute to the brave men and women who served our nation. Flying with precision and passion, Eric’s performances highlighted the power and grace of vintage military aircraft and reminded spectators why preserving this legacy matters. Eric gave a spectacular show in his clipped wing Taylorcraft, followed later in the day with an even more exhilarating aerobatic performance in the Southern Heritage Air Foundation's T6 Texan. Speaking of T6 Texans, the unmistakable Yellow T-6 Texan that graces our hangar was on static display, flown in by our very own Dale Shepherd and Brandon Stevens.

Warbirds & Wheels on Display

Beyond the runway, our Mississippi Wing setup drew in enthusiasts of all ages. Our living history display featured our WWII military Jeep and 1940's Indian military motorcycle.

Guests were encouraged to take pictures, ask questions, and check out the PX merchandise from our passionate volunteers about the history, mechanics, and missions of the CAF. For many, it wasn’t just an airshow, it was a time machine.

Honoring the Past, Inspiring the Future

The 2025 Hammond Airshow was more than just a weekend event. It was a celebration of aviation’s role in shaping our nation. From WWII aircraft, to curious kids taking their first step toward a future in flight, every moment was a reminder of why the Commemorative Air Force exists and a great way to continue to .
