Strengthening Connections, Sharing Knowledge, and Growing the Mission
Earlier this year in February, members of the Mississippi Wing of the Commemorative Air Force traveled to Dallas, Texas to attend the 2026 Commemorative Air Force Annual Conference, an important gathering that brought together Wings from across the country to collaborate, learn, and strengthen the organization as a whole.
A Week of Connection and Collaboration

Throughout the week, Mississippi Wing members actively engaged with fellow CAF Wings, building relationships and exchanging ideas that continue to elevate the impact of each organization. The conference provided a valuable opportunity to connect with leaders and volunteers who share the same passion for preserving aviation history and supporting the CAF mission.
These conversations and connections played a critical role in helping Wings grow, adapt, and bring new ideas back to their local communities.
Learning to Grow the Wing
A key focus of the conference was education. Members attended a wide range of seminars designed to provide insight into operations, event planning, fundraising, and community engagement.

These sessions offered practical strategies that can be applied directly to the Mississippi Wing, helping to strengthen current programs while identifying new opportunities for growth and outreach.
Leading by Example

The Mississippi Wing was not only present to learn—but also to lead.
Brandon Stevens, Education Director for the Mississippi Wing, led a seminar focused on how to successfully host a fly-in event and Aviation Discovery Day. His presentation highlighted how these events can serve as both powerful community engagement tools and effective fundraisers.
By sharing proven strategies and real-world results, the Mississippi Wing contributed to the success of other CAF Wings looking to expand their own event capabilities.
A Strong Presence
The Mississippi Wing was proud to be among the largest groups in attendance at the conference. This strong showing reflected the commitment, momentum, and growth of the Wing, as well as the dedication of its members to continually improve and support the broader CAF organization.
Bringing It Back Home

As the conference concluded, members returned with new ideas, strengthened relationships, and a renewed focus on continuing to grow the Mississippi Wing’s impact. From enhancing events to expanding educational opportunities, the knowledge gained in Dallas continues to play a direct role in shaping the future of the Wing.
