Hangar Hangout 2025: Where Aviation and Community Soared Together

Presented by Keesler Federal Credit Union and proudly sponsored by Mazda of Jackson and iHeart Media, the 2025 Hangar Hangout hosted by the Mississippi Wing of the Commemorative Air Force was a celebration of flight, freedom, and family fun. This year’s event drew record-breaking crowds once again to the City of Madison, Mississippi and the Madison Airport, delivering a high-flying day of aviation history, car culture, educational exhibits, and community connection.

A Living Runway of Warbirds and Wonders

With rows of pristinely preserved aircraft lining the field, guests had the chance to witness living history up close. From the WWII-era Stearman, Travel Air's, a Bell Helicopter, Stinson L5 a T-6 Texan, a T34 Mentor, as well as other rare civilian classics, the tarmac was alive with aviation icons. Families posed for photos in front of planes, veterans swapped stories under the wings, and volunteers proudly shared the significance of each aircraft on display. Some lucky spectators even got to purchase rides in these iconic aircraft throughout the day.

The Ultimate Crossroads of Culture: Cars, Planes, and People

Hangar Hangout 2025 wasn’t just about aviation—it was a full-throttle fusion of American engineering. The Show & Shine car display featured everything from vintage cruisers and military vehicles to modern muscle and exotic imports. With hundreds of cars gleaming across the grass, attendees strolled through a museum without walls, sharing their own stories and passion for restoration and performance.

As presenting sponsor, Keesler Federal Credit Union took center stage with a dynamic presence throughout the day. Their volunteers served as a welcoming presence for attendees, providing information, and smiling, friendly faces. Their $25,000 contribution helped power everything from family activities to making the entire event possible.

Their ongoing support of aviation education, veteran outreach, and Mississippi community heritage was recognized during the day that celebrated Keesler Federal's commitment to service beyond banking.

Mazda of Jackson and iHeart Media Amplify the Experience

Mazda of Jackson joined the flight line as a proud sponsor, displaying some of their latest models and providing guests a chance to explore top-tier automotive design up close.

iHeart Media brought the event center stage with local radio promotions that connected the crowd with the event prior to show day.

Inside the Hangar: A Hub of History and Hospitality

The Mississippi Wing hangar buzzed with indoor excitement as guests grabbed food, Heard from many of our on hand guest, and enjoyed historical displays. Pilot panels, STEM exhibits, and community sponsored booths filled the space with purpose and inspiration. Seating areas offered a place to relax and connect inside in a covered and well cooled area with the addition of a massive Hunter brand industrial ceiling fan, purchased from the proceeds of last years event; all while interviews and and car show awards were presented.

Honoring the Past, Fueling the Future

The spirit of Hangar Hangout 2025 was rooted in remembrance and propelled by progress. With each aircraft that fired up and each community story shared, the Mississippi Wing of the Commemorative Air Force fulfilled its mission to educate, honor, and preserve. Events like this not only celebrate our collective past, but inspire the next generation to dream bigger, fly higher, and serve with purpose.
