NOTES FROM THE “HEAD SHED”

     Our Wing has been busy since the our last meeting. The first air show of the year for us was NAS Meridian. It was a contract show so the PX's were unable to attend but the C-45 was under contract and made the weekend. The weather could not have been any better and the plane looked great and participated in fly-bys both days. The navy Blue Angles were the big show and they always do great and makes us proud.  It was also a great opportunity for us to be a part of an event featuring several other CAF Wings and other Warbird groups.  We hosted a Hospitality Room that Saturday evening and almost all the warbird crews came by to visit . . . if you weren’t there, you missed a great time!

     The next weekend it was on to Keesler AFB and both PX's did good. We had plenty of help and again the weather was great. Keesler and the Biloxi Chamber of Commerce threw a fish fry and sud's for all the participants at the Base marina. Bobby Yonkin had his new twin beech and Learjet there and did a great job.

     COL's Tony Banus, Danny O'Keefe, and yours truly hung the engine on the Stinson 10-A. Now we can start piecing the final work together. Our meeting this month will be dedicated to the Stinson, so come out at noon, enjoy lunch, and watch or help finish the Stinson.
