Charles T. Hull
1921 - 2019
Charles Hull was born in Rolling Fork, MS and enlisted in the Army Air Corps in January of 1942. He completed flight training by November of 1942 at Columbus Army Air Field and was commissioned a 2nd Lt. He went on to fly the B-17 with the 351st Bomb Group in Eastern Europe. Upon the completion of his 25 missions, he became a flight instructor on the B-17 and B-29. He was discharged in July of 1945. During his service, he received the Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters.
Charles continued his travel and flying and has been to all 50 states, 74 countries and crossed the Arctic Circle four times. In 1978, he completed a solo, around-the-world flight that spanned 92 days and covered approximately 39,000 miles, during which he provided supplies to missionaries around the world before returning home to Mississippi.
